Empowering the Underrepresented
Educating the community is a large part of what we do at Mend Hunger. One in eight individuals live with food insecurity. Food insecurity is a lack of access to reliable, affordable, nutritious food. For those with medically restricted diets, these specialty foods can cost as 4x that of a regular diet. Mend Hunger seeks to end hunger for those forced to choose between health and hunger. We want to draw attention to these important issues facing the food allergy community.
